IF TOMORROW

If tomorrow I depart this world,
Let no man shed tears for me,
For they are like heated water,
Turned only to vapour which vanishes.

I shed my body for a butterfly’s coat,
Fluttering gracefully to heaven’s gate,
I wonder what this life is really worth,
breath snipped like thread off a cloak.

They say to accept death's intrusion,
rudely taking loved ones from us,
I say protest against this injustice,
that robs us of our happiness.

We are trapped within this nest in a cage,
Faced only with the reality of life’s futility.
