RAIL RODE

I look up at the gloomy sky,
as the clouds bleed ceaselessly,
Causing me to break out in a loud cry,
for they are exactly like me.

Love is like a rail to the train,
disappearing into the distance,
Mine an endeavour ending in vain,
as she turned away without a second glance.

Lips speaking words laced with venom,
eating deep into my heart,
And now I turn to the bottle of rum,
giving the order for it to rip me apart.

I dive into the shimmering lake,
drowning myself for humanity's sake.
