REFT SOUL by Adesina Aanuoluwapo John

I once had been served the wine of love; dutifully pressed from the grapes of cupid's vineyard. It was ever so sweet; intoxicating mind, body and soul. But this spirituous drink leaveth a bitter aftertaste.
Her evil face clouds my mind like the ashes of the burning souls of hell. I remember the tone of her skin; viciously pale and whiter than the lies she told. She purchased my love with the crookedness of her heart, and my affection with the veil of deception.
I fear to love another as I did her; for I fear I might rape her of her faith. My heart is now caked like the mud of the earth; eternally hardened, never to beat again.
